Teresa began her CRT career in 1991 as a customer service/sales rep for United Medical. Her career path promptly became her passion: she received her Resna ATS certification in 1995 and Resna ATP 3 years later. She then worked for HealthCare Source as an ATP in Memphis, TN. In 2001 she opened Glass Seating and Mobility in Memphis and quickly expanded into Alabama, Mississippi and Arkansas.
In 2011 Glass Seating was awarded the HME Excellence award for CRT. The following year, Teresa sold Glass Seating to United Seating and Mobility where she remained as Regional VP until she retired early in 2019 to spend more time with her family. But Teresa missed working with CRT clients, and a year later she started Freedom In Mobility in Huntsville, AL.
It is her mission - and that of her team - to create a stress-free process for clients, caregivers, and medical professionals in acquiring the specialized equipment tailored to individuals’ specific needs to maximize their health, function, and independence.
Mike's complex rehab experience began in 1994 and includes billing, accounting, sales, management, service technician, seating technician, and his current ATP position. He holds a BS in Business Management from Athens State University and has been a certified ATP since 2009. He is also a NRRTS member. In August of 2021 Mike obtained his Seating and Mobility Specialist (SMS) certification.
Having trained and worked as a rehab technician, Mike has hands-on experience with device capabilities in determining what equipment best fits the needs of each client.
Mike is married and has 3 children. He states, “My children have only known me to be in this business; they are very aware of and comfortable with others in the community with disabilities and their needs.”
Susan received her BS degree in Occupational Therapy from Tennessee State University. In 2004, she became RESNA certified as an Assistive Technology Professional. Susan has worked as a therapist and an ATP in a variety of settings including Assistive Technology clinics, home health, SNF’s, and in the CRT industry over the past 24 years.
After receiving her CAPS (Certified Aging In Place) certification in December of 2011, she co-created Rehab & Mobility Solutions, LLC, to assist clients with their mobility needs and provide safe solutions for home accessibility. She has also worked with health plans to provide medical necessity determinations to ensure appropriate equipment selection and guidelines have been met.
Susan’s extensive AT background and expertise in Medicare and other payer guidelines allows her to share knowledge with both her clients and team members to assist in providing mobility solutions that obtain optimal outcomes. As an Occupational Therapist, her experience in clients’ homes over the years has enhanced her ability to provide safe and accessible solutions to allow individuals to stay in their homes longer.
Susan’s passion for CRT and home accessibility is evident in her willingness to share her knowledge in daily interactions with clients, clinician’s, MD offices, community support peers, and manufacturing partners.
Greg received his degree in physical therapy from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 1992. For several years he worked as a PT in various settings including inpatient and outpatient neuro, wound care, inpatient cardiac rehab, acute ortho, and work conditioning programs. He has also worked in home health and in skilled care facilities. This experience prepared him for a career in Complex Rehab Technology.
In 1999 Greg became RESNA certified as an Assistive Technology Practitioner and then as an Assistive Technology Professional. In 2011 he obtained his Seating and Mobility Specialist (SMS) certification.
From 1999 until 2022, Greg worked in the CRT industry with Carr Rehab until 2018 and then Numotion. In 2022, Greg retired after 30 years in healthcare. During retirement, Greg was honored to work part-time at Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center in the Seating and Mobility Clinic.
Greg joined Freedom in Mobility as the Director of Clinical Education in January of 2023. He is looking forward to serving the needs of East Tennessee.
Greg has 4 children and three grandchildren. He is an avid scout leader a currently serves as a Vice President on the local Scouts BSA Executive Board. He loves spending time outdoors with his family and friends.
Shawn has worked in the complex rehab technology and durable medical equipment industry for 14 years. His prior experience included work as a distribution supervisor/lead technician, an orthotic program supervisor and senior service technician, and an inventory specialist/warehouse manager.
Shawn has been trained on all major CRT manufacturers products and has comprehensive knowledge of the electronic and mechanical systems on all wheelchairs. He provides preventative maintenance and repairs to keep your wheelchair working in peak condition. He can also teach clients how to properly maintain their equipment, aiding in the wheelchairs’ dependability and longevity.
Darrien has worked in the complex rehab technology and durable medical equipment industry for over 20 years. Darrien began working with Teresa Glass in 2001 when they opened Glass Seating and Mobility (GSM) in Memphis. In 2012 GSM was purchased by United Seating and Mobility where Darrien continued working until 2022. In March of 2022 Darrien joined Freedom In Mobility, LLC. and works with the Tennessee division. Darrien has been trained on all major CRT manufacturers products and has comprehensive knowledge of the seating as well as mechanical systems on all wheelchairs.
Darrien also serves as the Pastor for his Church, Redeeming Life Ministries in Millington, TN.
Kim began her CRT career in 1991 as a file clerk, working her way up to customer service representative and biller for American Home Patient in Knoxville, Tn. She moved to Atlanta in 1999 where she gained experience in radiology and pathology billing for several national accounts. She moved back to East Tennessee in 2002 and began working at Carr Rehab where she worked for 16 years until they were acquired by Numotion in 2018. During her time at Carr she worked as a customer service rep., billing manager, Operations Manager and finally as a Director of Operations for Order Processing. After the Carr acquisition she worked in that position for an additional 5 years. In April 2023 she joined Freedom in Mobility as their Accounts Receivable Manager.
Natalie has worked in medical customer service, accounts receivables, billing and collections for 15 years. She has worked in multiple healthcare settings including renal care, neurology, oncology, youth/family services and complex rehab/dme. She began working with Freedom In Mobility in June, 2021 and handles customer service operations for Alabama.
Shelby has multiple years of management and customer service experience in a variety of service industries. She began working with Freedom In Mobility as a customer service representative for the Memphis division in the summer of 2021 and was promoted to office manager in June of '22.
Andrew began his career in CRT in 2014 with United Seating and Mobility. He has held multiple positions within the industry, from intake to service coordination before ultimately being promoted to Customer Care Coordinator. With over 9 years of CRT experience, Andrew has worked with every major rehab facility and hospital in the Memphis area. In November 2022, he joined the team at FIM, taking over as our lead CCC for the Huntsville branch.
Jessica began her career in CRT in 2000 with Carr Rehab Inc. She has held multiple positions from file clerk to inventory clerk to receptionist and now customer care coordinator. In April, 2023 Jessica joined the FIM team.
Forrest holds a BS in English and Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of Memphis. He left his position in City planning in 2005 to pursue a career in CRT. Forrest worked as the operations manager for Glass Seating & Mobility from 2005 to 2012 and helped the company grow from one branch to 4 branches in 4 different states. He acted as the safety officer, human resource officer, and compliance manager in addition to running the day to day operations of the business. Forrest helped start Freedom in Mobility, LLC, in 2020 and serves as the Chief Operating Officer.
